About Me
I started working about 50 years back.
I spent over 14 years, right up to the position of Sales Manager (West) in my first job in Carter-Wallace (Now Wallace Pharma). But my heart was in brand management. I joined Sun Pharma as a brand manager. Here I met my two gurus, Late Prof. Chitta Mitra, and Late Prof. Tarun Gupta. Learning under these two legends was the equivalent of doing an MBA at the “MITRA-GUPTA PHARMA BRAND MANAGEMENT INSTITUTE.”
After that I served Intas Pharmaceuticals and later Torrent Pharmaceuticals where I headed the sales and marketing functions.

The Enablers
Having lived in Gujarat for so long, the entrepreneurship of a Gujarati rubbed on me. Eight years before my retirement was due, I set up my own ‘The Enablers.’
Let me tell you the WHY behind 'The Enablers'.
‘The Enablers’ was set up to serve the learning and development needs of the underprivileged pharma workforce in pharma marketing and sales (i.e., those who do not get adequate in-house learning and development support); so, they can progress to newer heights in both their professional careers and personal lives. ‘The Enablers' developed human capital in the Indian sub-continent and sub-Saharan Africa.
I am also engaged in academic activities and started by writing the curriculum and the course material in pharma sales and marketing for the newly started distant-learning MBA of Vidyasagar University, West Bengal. During the same time, students from IIHMR (Jaipur), Jamia Hamdard University, Punjab University, and NMIMS did their summer internships under ‘The Enablers’ and ‘PharmaState Academy.’
At the same time, egged on by students and mentees, I wrote the first-ever book exclusively for pharma brand managers in 2011. And then went on to write six more books on pharma management.
Clients kept on coming and ‘the Enablers’ kept on growing.

Chief Mentor
View My CoursesIn 2020 came the pandemic. But God was kind to me. He introduced me to PharmaState Academy founded by Dr. Swati Sinha and Dr. Satish Gupta. PharmaState Academy and ‘The Enablers’ now work hand-in-glove for the benefit of pharma sales and marketing personnel. Our focus is on establishing Good Marketing Practices (GMaP). We are working hard on the innovative marketing model, the patient-centered approach in marketing, which is a natural outgrowth of H2H marketing proposed by Philip Kotler.
